Counterfeit Emerson Knives Warning

Emerson is issuing a customer alert to purchasers of products, particularly via internet sales, in regards to bogus Emerson products that are apparently being illegally imported from the People’s Republic of China.  These products bear many of the marks and trade dress of current making them very hard to distinguish externally from authentic Emerson products.

In recent months, counterfeited Emerson’s have begun to arrive with increasing regularity to the Emerson headquarters for service.  These products are not manufactured by Emerson and are not covered by the Emerson Knives, Inc Guarantee.
The thing to be aware of is that if you are an internet shopper and you find a price that is “Too good to be true”, then it probably is a counterfeit.

Remember that the customer demand for Emerson Knives has always exceeded the supply.  And, Emerson does not discount any of their products.  Our prices to distributors, dealers and retail are structured so that no one seller has an unfair advantage over any other seller.

Once again, be advised that a ridiculously low priced Emerson is possibly a counterfeit or that the dealer does not and probably never has had, an actual Emerson Knife in stock but unfortunately, is using the Emerson name to lure you into buying some other product.

We recommend that you buy an Emerson Knife from a reputable, well regarded dealer.  We have experienced too many stories of ultra low priced sellers taking customers money and then claiming that the knife is on backorder – sometimes for months.  Verify that the dealer has the knife in stock before you order.

We are looking out for you but in the end, as the Ancient Romans said so simply “Caveat Emptor” – Let the buyer beware.

Good Hunting,

Ernest R. Emerson
